정상을 바라는 어떠한 이에게는

그것이 결여되어 있다.

 

어떤이들은 그 미침 속에서

정상 세계 속에 엉망을 만든다.

 

 

그래서 나는 앉아 생각해본다.

나는 미친 것일까 도덕적인 것일까 멀쩡한 것일까

 

지나가는 한 이가 나무 밑에 앉아

뜨거운 태양을 언급하며

앞에 보이는 우산 든 청년을 쳐다본다.

 

 

나는 생각하기를

얘가 없는 비를 느끼나 한다.

 

 

그래서 나는 그에게로 다가가서

묻는다

왜 이 땡볕에 우산을 쓰고 있어.

 

 

그러자 그는 대답한다.

새똥에 맞을까봐 그래

 

그리고 나는 주변에 새들이 많기도 함을 본다.

 

 

그렇다면 이 청년은

청결한 걸까

미친 걸까

준비성이 철저한 걸까

걱정이 지나친 걸까

아니면 충분히 교육받지 못하거나 자라질 못해서 그런가

 

 

 

나는 앉아 한동안 생각을 해보다가 결론을 내렸다.

 

 

그래서 모글리가 즉 늑대소년이 이 인간사회에 생존할 수 없었나보다.

 

 

 

 

어쩌면 정신이 온전하다는 것은 다른 사람들이 어떠한 것을 보고 어떻게 생각할지를 아는 것인지도 모른다는 생각을 해본다.

 

 

The sanity that creates a normal living

Is absent for some

 

Some in their madness

So I sit and ponder

Am I mad or am moral or sane

Mentions the sunshine

I think to myself

Maybe he feels the rain

 

 

So I walk over

And ask

Why are you holding an umbrella in the sunshine

 

And the fellow answers

I am afraid of getting pooped on by the birds

 

And I do note there are a lot flying about

 

 

So is this lad a very sanitary man

Or a crazy man

Or a very prepared man

Or a man with excessive worries

Or just not well educated or grown enough

 

 

 

I sat and pondered over this for a long time

And came to a conclusion

 

 

There is a reason why mowgli the wolf child couldn't survive in a human norm.

 

 

 

 

 

Perhaps sanity is being able to know how certain things can be looked at by others.
