제가 여러분들이 반올림하는 것을 모르신다고 이 글을 올리는 것은 아닙니다.

물론 비지니스 수학 개념이 약간 일반적이지 않은 것을 소개한다면 같이 배워보자는 취지도 있겠지만

여기서는 이 반올림한다는 개념을 영어로 표현하면 어떻게 하는지에 대해 더 초점을 맞추어 봅니다.

온수를 반올림 하는 것.

 

Business applications often require rounding numbers.

비지네스 절차들을 자주 반올림할 것을 요구합니다.

For example, money amounts are commonly rounded to the nearest cent.

주로 돈은 가까운 센트로 반올림되죠.

However, many amount can also be rounded to the nearest dollar, hundred dollars, thousand dollars, or even hundreds

of thousands of dollars and beyond.

하지만 많은 돈의 액수가 가장 가까운 달러로 반올림되거나 백 달러로 혹은 그 아싱의 자리로 반올림될 수 있습니다.

 

The steps for rounding whole numbers.

온수를 반올림하는 단계들입니다.

 

Locate the place to which the number is to be rounded. Draw a line under that place.

반올림이 되어 올려져야 하는 자리를 찾으십시오. 달러로 반올림된다면 달러 자리에 밑줄을 그으십시오.

 

If the first digit to the right of the underlined place is 5 or more, increase the digit in the place to which you are rounding by one.

밑줄그은 오른쪽으로 첫번째 수가 5거나 이상이면 그 반올림이 되어지는 자라를 그 다음 수로 즉 일을 더하여 쓰십시오.

 

If the first digit to the right of the underlined place is less than 5, do not change the digit in the place to which you are rounding.

만약 밑줄그은 오른쪽으로 첫번째 수가 4이거나 밑이라면 그 밑줄쳐진 자리의 수를 바꾸지 마십시오.

 

Change all digits to the right of the underlined digit to zeros.

밑줄쳐진 수의 오른쪽으로 있는 모든 수를 영으로 바꾸십시오.
